Here’s what the B1G Tournament bracket looks like entering final day of regular season
We’ve reached the final day of the regular season. The seeds for the B1G Tournament are almost set.
Already, some teams have locked up their spot in the conference tournament next week, unable to move up or down regardless of what happens on Sunday. But there are still some teams that can make some moves on the last day of the regular season.
Saturday night, Big Ten Network updated the bracket for the B1G Tournament. Eight spots are already locked up:
- #1 Michigan
- #2 Illinois
- #5 Ohio State
- #6 Wisconsin
- #9 Michigan State
- #10 Indiana
- #11 Penn State
- #14 Nebraska
The No. 12 and No. 13 matchup is also set as Northwestern will play Minnesota, but which team earns what seed is still up for grabs. After all, the color of the jersey is on the line!
That basically leaves a battle for the No. 7 seed (Rutgers and Maryland) and the No. 3 seed (Iowa and Purdue).
If the Hawkeyes beat Wisconsin, they’ll lock up the No. 3 seed, but a loss bumps Purdue up to that spot. A Maryland win over Penn State would bump the Terrapins into the No. 7 spot and drop Rutgers down to No. 8. Both teams would be 10-10 in conference play, and because they split the two regular season meetings, the Terps would get the nod with the higher regular season win percentage.
Here’s a look at how the field stands currently:
Tomorrow, by night's end, the #B1Gtourney bracket will be official.
