Gonzaga is heading home, getting bounced from the NCAA Tournament Thursday night.

Entering March Madness as a 1-seed and the top overall seed in the tournament, expectations were once again high for the Bulldogs. Unfortunately for Mark Few and his squad, it’s another early exit after falling short of a Final Four.

This time around, it was Eric Musselman and his Arkansas squad that ruined the day for Gonzaga. After chipping away for a slim lead at halftime, the Razorbacks posted a dramatic second-half performance for the 74-68 win to advance to the Elite 8.

In the win, JD Notae led the Razorbacks with 21 points while Jaylin Williams added a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Arkansas also registered 6 blocks in the win.

Drew Timme of Gonzaga led all scorers with 25 points and star freshman Chet Holmgren finished with an 11-point, 14-rebound double-double. But unfortunately for Gonzaga, the team struggled mightily from the floor, shooting 37.5% from the field and 5-for-21 from 3-point range. The Bulldogs also gave the ball up a lot with 15 turnovers.

While Gonzaga did make it to the national championship game last year, the Bulldogs continue their title drought for a team that is consistently ranked near the top of the bracket under Few.
