How every Power 5 conference fared with 4- and 5-star recruits in 2022 class
Once again, the SEC is the head of the class.
The 2022 recruiting cycle essentially came to an end on Wednesday, National Signing Day. Those who didn’t sign with a program in December during the Early Signing Period made their final commitments, closing the book on this class.
As has become an annual occurrence, the SEC led the way in the number of 4- and 5-star commitments. The B1G was second with the ACC and Big 12 taking the third and fourth spots and the Pac-12 ending in last.
FOX Sports provided a breakdown by conference, using the 247Sports composite rankings. Here’s a look at the final tallies for each league when it comes to 4- and 5-star prospects:
- SEC: 5-stars – 17; 4-stars – 117
- B1G: 5-stars – 6; 4-stars – 71
- ACC: 5-stars – 4; 4-stars – 48
- Big 12: 5-stars – 2; 4-stars – 50
- Pac-12: 5-stars – 1; 4-stars – 35
As you can tell, the SEC completely dominated the other conferences in both areas. The B1G also had a pretty sizable advantage on the other three conferences.
