What a weird time in recruiting.

Obviously, the COVID-19 pandemic has put all of sports on the backburner. But it’s not just the action on the field that has been abandoned. Traditional recruiting methods have been thrown out the window as the NCAA has implemented a dead period, not allowing official or unofficial visits to campus during this public health crisis.

That has forced college football coaches to get creative with recruiting methods. Some have been better than others.

The NCAA is permitting coaches to reach out to prospects using technology. Zoom meetings, telephone conversations, text messages and social media are all avenues staffs can use to speak with high school recruits. But with no ability to bring those prospects on campus or meet face-to-face, it’s required unconventional methods in the lifeblood of the sport.

As we are now in the month of July, let’s take a look at how recruiting stands in the B1G currently. There’s still a lot of time between now and the Early Signing Period, which means there will be plenty of changes in the coming months. But why not have a look at how teams stand currently?
