The college football season will officially conclude this afternoon.

Later today, Sam Houston and South Dakota State will battle in Frisco, Texas for the FCS national championship. While FBS teams moved forward with a fall football schedule, the FCS level decided to postpone until this spring with an abbreviated schedule and playoff system.

Today’s game features No. 1 seed South Dakota State (8-1) against No. 2 seed Sam Houston (9-0):

  • Kickoff time: 2 p.m. ET
  • Location: Toyota Stadium – Frisco, Texas
  • TV: ABC
  • Spread: South Dakota State (-5.5)

To reach the championship, Sam Houston defeated Monmouth (21-15), North Dakota State (24-20), and James Madison (38-35). South Dakota State defeated Holy Cross (31-3), Southern Illinois (31-26) and Delaware (33-3).

This will be the first year North Dakota State has not won the national championship since 2016, when James Madison claimed the title. It will be just the second time a team other than the Bison has won it all since 2011.
