This might be a troll job for the ages.
In the age of the social media, it’s become fairly common for teams and players to troll opponents or rival schools on Twitter, Instagram or other outlets. Rarely, though, do you witness this kind of shade being thrown within the same athletic department.
But that’s what’s happening at Tennessee. It’s pretty epic, too.
By now, we’re all familiar with the report hat Tennessee’s football team was allegedly handing McDonald’s bags filled with cash to potential recruits under head coach Jeremy Pruitt. That, as well as other alleged recruiting violations, led to an investigation into the program, as well as Pruitt’s firing.
Now, the Volunteers baseball team is using McDonald’s bags as a way to celebrate home runs during the season. Evidence was captured by Jordan Crammer of WATE Channel 6 in Knoxville, during Tennessee’s 21-1 win over Arkansas Pine-Bluff. You have to look closely, but it’s there.
And it’s absolutely awesome:
