Incredible 89-yard TD for Toledo produces early candidate for top catch of Bowl Season
In case you missed it, college football’s Bowl Season is here with the postseason slate getting kicked off Friday afternoon. The first bowl of the year is the Bahamas Bowl and will be followed by the Cure Bowl Friday evening.
In that Bahamas Bowl, Middle Tennessee State is facing off against Toledo. It has been a pretty wide-open first half with both teams finding the end zone a couple of times.
In the second quarter, it was a huge grab by Toledo’s Matt Landers that gave the Rockets 14 points and a big highlight-reel touchdown. The throw was a bit ahead of Landers in one-on-one coverage and he was unable to reel it in cleanly at first.
Landers was able to get one hand on the ball and keep it in the air long enough to secure the grab. Once he secured the catch, it was off to the races for the 89-yard score in incredible fashion.

If Landers’ catch is any indication for the rest of Bowl Season, this is bound to be a great postseason slate of big plays.
