Fall sports will continue as planned in the state of Indiana.

On Wednesday, the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) announced that it will allow schools to push forward with a fall sports schedule as previously planned. That means that girls golf practice may begin on Friday, July 31 while all other sports can begin practicing on Monday, Aug. 3.

“High school fall sports are on track to proceed as planned,” the IHSAA wrote on Twitter. “Girls golf practice begins this Friday (July 31) with other sports starting on Monday (Aug. 3)! Have fun and good luck to all participants!”

According to Rob Connett of WIBC in Indianapolis, the IHSAA’s plan to not postpone, delay or cancel any fall seasons at this time means that high school football games are scheduled to begin on Friday, Aug. 21.

Last week, the IHSAA said shutting down fall sports or moving athletic competitions to the spring was “not an option,” according to WNDU.com.
