Iowa State QB accused of placing multiple wagers on ISU sporting events
Iowa State’s starting QB in 2022, Hunter Dekkers, is being accused of placing 26 wagers on Iowa State sporting events, a report from the Des Moines Register said Tuesday. A criminal complaint against Dekker was filed by the Story County Attorney’s Office.
The report states that, included in the 26 wagers placed on ISU sporting events, Dekker bet on a game in 2021 against Oklahoma State when he was the backup at Iowa State. Outside of ISU, Dekkers placed well over 350 wagers which totaled $2,799.
If these accusations are proven correct, Dekkers would be facing a permanent loss of eligibility under NCAA Guidelines.
