Iowa's Keegan Murray, Ohio State's Malaki Branham earn weekly B1G hoops honors
Iowa’s Keegan Murray and Ohio State’s Malaki Branham have earned recognition for this week’s B1G weekly awards.
Murray was named the B1G Player of the Week while Branham took home Freshman of the Week honors. This is the fourth time in his career Murray has been named the conference’s Player of the Week while Branham has earned Freshman of the Week honors three times this year.
Murray averaged 21.5 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block and 1 steal in Iowa’s wins over Michigan State and Nebraska last week. He scored 28 points in a blowout win over the Spartans and posted a double-double of 15 points and 11 board in the victory over Nebraska.

Branham averaged 23.7 points in Ohio State’s 3 games last week. The Buckeyes went 2-1, defeating Indiana and Illinois but fell to Maryland. The freshman’s top performance came against the Fighting Illini, scoring 31 points for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State closes out the regular season with games against Nebraska, Michigan State and Michigan. Iowa will play Northwestern, Michigan and Illinois.
