Jackson Cantwell, No. 1 recruit in class of 2026, reportedly lines up visits to Ohio State, Michigan
Jackson Cantwell, the consensus No. 1 overall recruit nationally for the class of 2026, has lined up a few spring visits as his recruitment heats up.
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Cantwell is expected to take visits to Ohio State, Michigan and Miami this spring. The report says all 3 visits are expected to take place during the third week of March.
This news comes a few weeks after Cantwell named a list of 6 finalists. In addition to the 3 schools previously mentioned, Cantwell said he’s also still considering Georgia, Mizzou and Oregon.
Cantwell is one of the best high school prospects in the country regardless of position or class. He’s the No. 1 overall player for the 2026 cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Cantwell is listed at 6-foot-7, 300 pounds. He attends Nix High School in Nixa, Missouri. His father, Christian Cantwell, was a track and field star at Mizzou and went on to become a silver medalist in the shot put at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
It’s still early in the class of 2026 cycle, so Ohio State and Michigan have finalized many additions yet in this recruiting class. Michigan has just 2 commitments as of Tuesday afternoon while Ohio State only has 4. Of course, things will pick up for both programs significantly in the coming weeks and months.
