Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele has reportedly decided that Oregon is not where he wants to play college football.

Sagapolutele backed off his commitment to Cal and signed with the Ducks on Dec. 4. He enrolled at Oregon in December. Since he became a UO student-athlete, it’s to the transfer portal for Sagapolutele to find a new home. According to Brandon Huffman, the prized Class of 2025 recruit is doing just that.

Out of Ewa Beach (Hawaii) Campbell High School, Sagapolutele measures 6-3, 210 pounds, per his Oregon bio. He is rated 4-stars, the No. 1 player from Hawaii, No. 10 quarterback and No. 92 prospect overall in the 2025 recruiting class by the 247Sports Composite.

Sagapolutele picked up scholarship offers from 15 programs during his recruitment. He committed to Cal on July 8. Oregon got involved on Sept. 26 and an offer from Georgia followed on Oct. 21. UGA landed a verbal commitment from 4-star QB Ryan Montgomery on April 17. Montgomery followed through on his verbal pledge and signed with the Bulldogs on Dec. 4.

Sagapolutele maintained his verbal pledge to Cal until flipping to Oregon on Dec. 4, the beginning of the Early Signing Period. Oregon also signed Akili Smith Jr., a 4-star legacy QB, as part of its 2025 class.
