Jedd Fisch confirms Washington's starting QB for Friday game against UCLA
Jedd Fisch is sticking with Will Rogers as Washington’s QB1.
Rogers post season-lows in attempts (13), completions (10) and passing yards (59) in UW’s 35-6 loss at Penn State in Week 11. He also threw an interceptions. Rogers has now gone 3 games without a touchdown pass, recording 3 interceptions over that period.
Fisch, though, remains confident in the 5th-year quarterback, a transfer from Mississippi State.
“He’s led us all season long. He’s 5-0 at home. He’s done a fantastic job against USC and Michigan and Northwestern”
“I have total faith we’re going to win on Friday with Will at that position”

For the season, Rogers is 207-of-290 (71.4% complete) for 2,343 passing yards (8.1 yards per attempt), 13 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.
The Michigan game on Oct. 5, mentioned by Fisch, was Rogers’ last time topping 8 yards per attempt (21-of-31 passing for 271 yards). The USC contest, a 26-21 win on Nov. 2, was Rogers’ only game since Sept. 27 without an interception. Rogers was 25-of-39 for 262 yards with no touchdowns or picks in the game.
Freshman Demond Williams Jr. logged 10 passes in the Penn State game, completing 6 for 60 yards. He is 32-of-45 on the season for 302 yards and 2 touchdowns, with no interceptions.
UCLA at Washington, the Huskies’ home finale, is set for a 6 p.m. PT kickoff on Friday. The game will air on FOX. UW is 5-5 on the season, needing a win over either UCLA or Oregon to secure bowl eligibility.
