It took a while, but the FCS National Championship is back in action!

After a weather delay of over an hour, play finally resumed in the second quarter of action. The score was tied 7-all at the time of the delay.

Once play resumed, South Dakota State had the ball and drove down the field and into field goal range for the Jackrabbits. Unfortunately, the try was no good with Sam Houston State taking over.

On the ensuing drive, the Bearkats drove down the field with wide receiver Jequez Ezzard putting the exclamation point on the drive. Ezzard ran a beautiful route, breaking down his defender before bursting clear behind the defense in the end zone.

The pitch-and-catch was clean, giving Sam Houston a 14-7 lead. Ezzard finished the first half with three catches and two touchdowns.

Play has moved into the third quarter with just a three-minute break between the quarters due to the weather delay.
