With conference play fully in swing across the country, the race for the 2022 NCAA Tournament will begin to heat up from the middle of January onward.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi released his latest bracketology for March Madness. The Big 12 led the way with total teams represented in 8 while the SEC claimed the top overall seed in Auburn.

The B1G, SEC, and Big East tied for 2nd with 7 teams apiece in the big dance. As things currently stand, Lunardi’s bracketology did not have a No. 1 seed out of the B1G with Auburn, Arizona, Baylor, and Gonzaga landing the top seeds.

Here are the 7 B1G teams expected to make the tournament and their respective seeds:

  • 2. Purdue (South)
  • 3. Illinois (West)
  • 3. Wisconsin (Midwest)
  • 4. Michigan State (East)
  • 5. Ohio State (Midwest)
  • 7. Iowa (East)
  • 9. Indiana (South)

Also of note is the fact that Lunardi did not have any B1G teams as currently on the bubble to make the postseason. That means teams like Michigan, Maryland, and Rutgers all have lots of heavy lifting to do if they want to return to the NCAA Tournament after reaching the dance last season.
