The Joe Moore Award is an annual honor that goes to the best offensive line in the country, and when the semifinalists were unveiled on Tuesday the Big Ten was well-represented with 4 of the 10 elite units on the list.

Indiana, college football’s darling of 2024, led the Big Ten’s quartet of semifinalists. The Hoosiers are 10-0 and contending for a College Football Playoff spot as they enjoy a bye week before their showdown at Ohio State on Nov. 23. Not surprisingly, Indiana’s offensive line has helped pave the way for its success this fall under 1st-year head coach Curt Cignetti.

Ohio State is on that list, as the Buckeyes are in contention for a Big Ten and national title once again behind a re-worked offensive line that stayed firm this fall instead of letting changes get in the way of success. Instead, the Buckeyes’ o-line was clutch in Ohio State’s recent victory at Penn State.

Oregon is the No. 1 team in the country, and its high-octane offense has a ton of weapons, but it also enjoys such success because of its sturdy offensive line. The Ducks’ o-line was rewarded with a spot on the semifinalist list.

Iowa’s o-line also made the semifinalist list, as the Hawkeyes aren’t ranked but they are 6-4 behind a sturdy offensive line. Star running back Kaleb Johnson has thrived with major numbers on the ground for the Hawkeyes.

The other 6 teams on the semifinalist list were Alabama, Army, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas and Tulane, not surprisingly all teams that have enjoyed a lot of winning in 2024.
