The B1G has officially returned to the college football season, and that means teams have the opportunity to prove they belong in the College Football Playoff conversation. It also means that analysts like Joel Klatt have a chance to re-evaluate their personal rankings.

Each week, Klatt reveals a brand new Top 10 based on performances from the weekend. Most of this season, the FOX college football analyst has included Ohio State and Penn State in his rankings, even though neither team played until Saturday.

Now that the B1G is back in action, Klatt has updated his rankings. There are still two B1G teams currently ranked inside his Top 10, and but Penn State dropped out and a new squad is in the mix:

Klatt did show some love to other B1G teams, naming three teams that are just outside his Top 10. Klatt mentioned Wisconsin, Indiana and Penn State, as well as Florida and North Carolina.

Ohio State certainly looked the part on Saturday, defeating Nebraska 52-17 in Columbus. After just one game, the Buckeyes look like a College Football Playoff contender.

Penn State falls out after a 36-35 loss to Indiana in overtime. A season with high expectations was essentially crushed in Week 1 for the Nittany Lions.

Wisconsin opened with a convincing 45-7 win over Illinois and Michigan pummeled Minnesota 49-24 in Minneapolis. It was a fun weekend in the B1G, to say the least.

Next week should provide even more entertainment, and we’ll see if Klatt’s rankings change at all following Week 2.
