Joel Klatt releases new Top 10 after Week 8, lists two B1G teams in Top 5

The B1G’s chances of getting two teams into the College Football Playoff are pretty good right now, according to FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt. Right now, he believes two teams from the conference are among the top five nationally.
Every week, Klatt reveals his top 10 teams in college football. Right now, Klatt has Ohio State and Penn State sitting inside the top five, with both currently at 7-0 on the year.
The Buckeyes are coming off a 52-3 win over Northwestern and Penn State registered a 28-21 victory over Michigan on Saturday night. Here’s a look at Klatt’s top 10 after Week 8:
- Ohio State
- LSU
- Alabama
- Oklahoma
- Penn State
- Clemson
- Florida
- Georgia
- Notre Dame
- Utah
Wisconsin was previously included in this list, but a 24-23 loss to Illinois dropped the Badgers from the top 10.
There’s a good chance that the B1G East comes down to a Nov. 23 showdown between Ohio State and Penn State in Columbus. Considering how well both teams are playing, both teams could easily be 10-0 when toe meets leather at Ohio Stadium.
But there’s still a month between now and then, and, as we saw in Champaign on Saturday, anything can happen in college football.
