Joel Klatt says B1G is victim of ‘confirmation bias’ in CFB Playoff rankings

Joel Klatt has been on a recent tour to argue against the fairness of the College Football Playoff selection committee. On Thursday afternoon, he continued his effort.

The FOX Sports college football analyst recently talked about how conferences like the SEC and ACC are receiving the benefit of the doubt due to confirmation bias. He also believes that legendary Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer is building up the ACC.

So why exactly is that unfair? Klatt says it’s because those biases are negatively affecting the B1G, which isn’t getting a fair shake in the rankings.

It wasn’t just opinion, either. Klatt broke out the computers and based his argument around different data points, arguing that more B1G teams deserved to be ranked in the initial poll.

We’ve only seen one rankings release and there’s already some serious backlash. That means things will only get more interesting as we carry over into November.
