A week ago, Klatt had Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas as teams 1a, 1b, and 1c. On Sunday, though. he had a clear-cut No. 1: Texas, following the Longhorns’ 56-7 win over UTSA on Saturday — a game where Arch Manning entered for an injured Quinn Ewers and threw for 223 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Ohio State, meanwhile, was slotted at No. 2 after an open week. The Buckeyes return to action on Sept. 21 as they host Marshall.
Miami moved to No. 3 after being placed at No. 5 in Klatt’s Week 2 rankings. The Hurricanes pitched a shutout against Ball State as they overwhelmed the Cardinals 62-0.
What about Georgia? The Bulldogs struggled against Kentucky in Lexington but eventually escaped with a 13-12 win, ultimately dipping to No. 4 in Klatt’s rankings in the process.
Tennessee, No. 6 in Klatt’s Week 2 rankings, moved up to No. 5 after a runaway 71-0 win over Kent State that saw the Volunteers score 65 points in the first half.
