Justin Fields, Adrian Martinez in the mix of Heisman favorites based on latest 2020 odds
The latest Heisman Trophy odds for the 2020 college football season have been released, and two B1G names are in the mix among the favorites.
This week, Fan Duel released its latest Heisman odds for the 2020 season, taking a look at some of the best and brightest players returning to the field this fall. Two B1G quarterbacks are listed as candidates in the hunt: Ohio State’s Justin Fields and Nebraska’s Adrian Martinez.
Fields sits as the player with the best Heisman odds in all of college football, beating out Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Oklahoma’s Spencer Rattler. Martinez was tied for the seventh-best odds on the list. Below are the odds, as posted by Fan Duel:
- Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State — 7/4
- Adrian Martinez, QB, Nebraska — 25/1
Fields had an incredible year as a first-year starter at Ohio State, leading the Buckeyes to a 13-1 season, a B1G title and a berth in the College Football Playoff. Fields ended the year with 3,273 passing yards and 41 touchdowns while also rushing for 484 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Martinez and the Huskers didn’t have quite the year that was expected, experiencing a bit of a sophomore slump. Last year, Martinez finished with 1,956 yards through the air and just 10 touchdown tosses. He rushed for an additional 626 yards and seven scores while Nebraska finished 5-7.
