Kaleb Johnson, Luke Altmyer headline Big Ten's Week 4 honors
Kaleb Johnson and Luke Altmyer helped deliver big-time performances in Week 4 wins for Iowa and Illinois. On Monday, those 2 players were honored as Co-Players of the Week by the Big Ten, headlining a total of 5 players to receive individual honors.

Co-Offensive Players of the Week
- RB Kaleb Johnson, Iowa
- QB Luke Altmyer, Illinois
Johnson set a new career-high with 206 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 31-14 win over Iowa. He is the first Hawkeye in over a decade with 4 straight games of 100+ rushing yards and produced his 2nd career game of 200+ yards.
Altmyer continued his electric start to 2024 with 4 touchdowns and 236 yards in an overtime win over Nebraska on the road. Helped deliver 2 Top-25 wins for Illinois in the month of September for the first time in program history. Altmyer now has 10 passing touchdowns before throwing his first interception of the season, the only player in FBS to reach that mark.
Defensive Player of the Week
- Edge Josaiah Stewart, Michigan
Stewart was unblockable vs. USC with 4 tackles, 4 QB hurries, 3 TFLs and 2 sacks to go with a forced fumble. A pair of Stewart’s TFL came on 3rd down, and USC eventually shuffled its offensive line arrangement at halftime after the struggles facing Stewart.
Special Teams Player of the Week
- P Tommy Doman, Michigan
Doman delivered 8 punts with 5 of his boots traveling 50+ yards against USC. 3 of his punts were downed inside the 15-yard line and 2 of those were downed inside the 10-yard line to keep the Trojans pinned all game long. Doman also handled kickoff duties with 3 touchbacks.
Freshman of the Week
- LB Khmori House, Washington
House produced the first interception of his career and returned it 9 yards during Washington’s win over Northwestern. House also had 3 tackles while the Huskies held Northwestern to 112 total yards of offense.
