Kansas beats Texas Tech in one of the season's wildest finishes
Improving to 3-5 on the season, Les Miles’ Kansas Jayhawks knocked off the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 37-34, on Saturday at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence.
Walking off the Red Raiders with a 32-yard field goal by junior Liam Jones as time expired, it looked like these two teams were going to head to overtime when Jones’ initial attempt was blocked. Instead, one of the most hectic series of events of the 2019 season took place.
Stewart Mandel of The Athletic CFB and The Action Network’s Collin Wilson shared footage of the mayhem on Twitter:
Kansas game-winning FG blocked. But Texas Tech returner tries to lateral, fumbles, KU recovers with 2 seconds left.

Already matching their win total from last season, the Jayhawks will have four more chances to reach the four-win mark for the first time since 2009 when Mark Mangino was still roaming the sidelines.
Kansas will host their in-state rival, Kansas State (5-2), on November 2 at 3:30PM ET on FS1.
Also 3-5, Texas Tech has now dropped three straight games. Idle on Saturday, the Red Raiders will travel to Morgantown to face West Virginia (3-4) on November 9.
