For the niche of viewers that love college basketball on the same level as college football, Sunday is a special day. Kenpom, the advanced analytics website highlighting stats, projections and history for every team in DI college basketball, released its 2022-23 season rankings Sunday morning.
3 B1G hoops squads cracked the list: Indiana and No. 12, Iowa at No. 23 and Purdue at No. 25. Kentucky is rated as the No. 1 team in the nation.

College basketball starts back up at the beginning of November, less than a month away. Indiana is the team of the conference, featuring Trayce Jackson-Davis, the B1G preseason Player of the Year. Mike Woodson’s squad is the team to beat in the B1G.
It’s surprising to not see Illinois on this list. The Fighting Illini hauled in the No. 1 transfer in the nation in Terrance Shannon and will no doubt be right there against Indiana in the race for the conference.
