Kentucky basketball star Oscar Tshiebwe has decided to return to Lexington for the 2022-23 college basketball season. That announcement could earn him around $2 million in NIL money, too.

Tschiebwe was the National Player of the year for the 2021-22 season. He averaged 17.4 points, 15.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per contest for the Wildcats. He helped lead Kentucky to a 26-8 season and earn a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

On Wednesday, Tshiebwe revealed his decision with a post on Twitter. His return will give Kentucky an excellent opportunity to make a national championship run.

Per Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, Tshiebwe’s decision to return could net him quite a bit of money on the NIL market. He’s expected to earn somewhere in the neighborhood of $2 million.

Not a bad deal to return to Kentucky.

Tshiebwe spent the first two years of his college career at West Virginia. This past season at Kentucky was his best statistically, doubling his average point and rebound production from the 2020-21 season with the Mountaineers.
