This year’s game was not originally supposed to be scheduled for Black Friday, as there was a two-year break from the two teams meeting on Thanksgiving weekend. However, due to the pandemic and rescheduling, it opened a window for both teams to hit the Black Friday window again in 2020.
Iowa has been a winner in five-straight games against Nebraska. Each of the last two meetings have been decided by Hawkeye field goals late in the game, including last year’s 27-24 victory in Lincoln.
Nebraska still leads the all-time head-to-head series 29-18-3.
Kirk Ferentz is 6-5 against the Huskers in his 22 seasons as the head coach at Iowa. Scott Frost is searching for his first victory in the series.
