We are already 8 weeks through the college football season, and everyone is seemingly trying to find the next best team behind No. 1 Georgia.

ESPN College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit reveals his top 6 each week after all the games are played.

Following the Week 8 action, here are Herbie’s top 6 teams:

  1. Georgia
  2. Ohio State
  3. Alabama
  4. Cincinnati
  5. Michigan
  6. Oklahoma

Georgia was on the bye this week, but all 5 of the other teams on Herbstreit’s list were in action.

Ohio State, Alabama and Michigan all blew out inferior opponents, while Cincinnati and Oklahoma survived scares from conference cellar-dwellers.

4 out of Herbstreit’s top 6 teams have a realistic shot at playing each other as Michigan and Ohio State play at the end of the year, and it seems as if Georgia and Alabama are on a collision course for the SEC title.

5 of the 6 teams are in action next week:

  • Georgia vs. Florida (World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party)
  • Ohio State vs. No. 7 Penn State
  • Alabama: IDLE
  • Cincinnati at Tulane
  • Michigan at No. 9 Michigan State
  • Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech

Week 9 has a lot of the top teams in action against other ranked opponents.
