Every week, ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit fires off a flurry of tweet, letting fans know which players, teams and coaches impressed him most from the college football weekend.

This week, there’s plenty of B1G recognition.

Herbstreit named his top team performances and individual performers from Week 8. Two B1G teams and several individuals earned the honors.

Purdue was listed as the most impressive team from Week 8 following a 49-20 win over then-No. 2 Ohio State. Nebraska was also on the list, coming in at No. 3 following a 53-28 victory over Minnesota. The Huskers racked up over 650 yards of offense.

To go along with the Boilermakers’ impressive outing, Herbstreit named three offensive stars — quarterback David Blough; running back D.J. Knox; wide receiver Rondale Moore — as the top individual performers from Week 8.

Blough threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in the win while Knox added a career-high three touchdowns as he eclipsed the 100-yard mark. Moore had over 250 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Also on Herbstreit’s list was Michigan’s entire defense, which allowed just 94 yards in a 21-7 win over Michigan State. The Spartans had just 15 rushing yards.

Yeah, it was a pretty good weekend in the B1G, especially for Purdue, Michigan and Nebraska.
