Kirk Herbstreit put out his list of the top performing teams of Week 4. Herbie even had a B1G team on his list.

Kansas State, Texas Tech, MTSU, Notre Dame, Minnesota, James Madison, and Southern Miss were all mentioned as his best performing teams. Minnesota found its way onto the list after crushing Michigan State in East Lansing 34-7.

On top of that, Mohamed Ibrahim broke a Minnesota program record for career rushing touchdowns. The record was previously held by Minnesota football great Darrell Thompson who had 40 career rushing touchdowns as a Golden Gopher.

Kansas State, Texas Tech, and MTSU all beat ranked teams in their Week 4 wins. James Madison beat Appalachian State to start off 3-0 on the year. Southern Miss beat Tulane on a go-ahead touchdown with 19 seconds remaining in the game.

There should be plenty of more opportunities for some great games in Week 5 as well. It’ll be conference opponents the rest of the way for many teams around the country.
