The ninth week of college football has come to a close and ESPN college football analyst has updated his latest top four rankings.

Forty percent of the top 10 teams were on a bye over the weekend, but Clemson and Notre Dame both won in blowout fashion and appear on Herbstreit’s list. Clemson jumped all over rival Florida State for an emphatic 59-10 win that proves the Tigers are still in the elite class while developing true freshman Trevor Lawrence — who threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns — and could prove to be a real playoff title threat. Notre Dame did exactly what it was supposed to do, beating a down Navy opponent 44-22 on the road.

Alabama and LSU were both on bye this week leading into their division clash in Week 10 and remain on the list, shutting three conferences out with the Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12. Here’s the order Herbie released late Saturday evening:

It’s likely this will look a little different next week, but it’s a strong group of teams that so far, deserve the credit.
