Now that Week 2 is in the books and every college football team has stepped on the field in 2019, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit is ready to reveal is top four teams.
What has become a weekly tradition for Herbie was silenced for weeks 0 and 1 of college football, with so many games stretched over such a wide period of time. But now, the analyst is ready to go and has decided which four teams he’d have playing in the College Football Playoff for a national title.
Yes, he did include one B1G team.
- Clemson
- Alabama
- Ohio State
- LSU
Herbstreit has two SEC squads listed in the top four right now, along with Clemson and Ohio State. He does preface his top four by saying it’s only been two weeks, and that there’s still a lot of football to be played.
On the outside looking in are Oklahoma and Georgia.

So, there you have it, the first look at Herbstreit’s playoff picture. Try not to get too worked up at this point in the season, there’s still plenty of football left and it will change at least a dozen times.
