Kirk Herbstreit is staying firm in his Top 4. After another weekend of college football, the ESPN analyst has the same teams in the College Football Playoff picture as he did a week ago.

Those four squads are Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson and Ohio State, all of which were winners over the weekend. The Crimson Tide blasted LSU 55-17 and the Buckeyes blew out Michigan State 52-12. Both the Fighting Irish and Tigers had trouble in ACC action but each pulled away later in the game.

Notre Dame took down Syracuse 45-21 and Clemson knocked off Virginia Tech 45-10.

Here’s a look at where Herbie has the four teams ranked in his updated list:

  1. Alabama Crimson Tide (9-0)
  2. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-0)
  3. Clemson Tigers (9-1)
  4. Ohio State Buckeyes (5-0)

Outside the Top 4 are a pair of SEC teams. Herbstreit has Texas A&M (7-1) and Florida (8-1) as the next two. The Aggies defeated Auburn 31-20 over the weekend and currently have just a loss to Alabama on the resume.

The Gators wrapped up the SEC East title this weekend with a 31-19 victory over Tennessee. Texas A&M owns the head-to-head victory between the two programs.

We’ll see if Herbie makes any changes to his rankings next weekend.
