Kirk Herbstreit: SEC Championship ‘means more to players and coaches than the national championship’

Conference titles are always a big deal, but Kirk Herbstreit shared some particularly interesting comments about the SEC Championship ahead of Saturday’s game.
Most of the Power 5 conference titles will play a role in shaping the College Football Playoff field. However, the SEC game between No. 2 LSU and No. 4 Georgia is the only conference championship between teams currently in the top four.
According to Herbstreit, there’s nothing quite like the annual SEC Championship. He went so far as to say that he thinks it means more to the players and coaches than even a national championship.
Brandon Zimmerman with the SEC Network shared Herbstreit’s comments:
"I call the Rose Bowl. National Championship. There's nothing like this game. It's just different. The SEC Championship I think means more to the players and coaches than the national championship." – @KirkHerbstreit on #SECNation #SECChampionship
