As has become his Sunday tradition, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit released his college football top four.

His top four looks similar to what he has sent out in previous weeks. Speaking of consistency, that includes having Ohio State in the top four. Following the Buckeyes’ win against Penn State, Herbstreit included Ohio State in his list.

The No. 2 spot is pretty good since Ohio State sits ahead of Clemson in the latest polling. Herbstreit might have a point as the Tigers struggled against an ordinary Boston College team and is missing quarterback Trevor Lawrence. That will likely loom large this weekend as Clemson heads into South Bend to face Notre Dame.

Meanwhile, it’s hard to dispute Alabama in the top spot of Herbstreit’s rankings. The Crimson Tide have passed every test and continues to roll along.

At this point, another Big Ten team cracking this list is going to take a while. The next likely team would be Wisconsin. If the Badgers play next weekend and defeat a rising Purdue team, Wisconsin might have a case.

The next most likely is Indiana, which has a chance to make some noise against Michigan this weekend.
