With the sixth week of the college football season over, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit has updated his top four teams.

Herbstreit, who was in Columbus for the showdown between No. 25 Michigan State and No. 4 Ohio State, still has the Buckeyes listed as his No. 1 team after seeing them up close for a second straight week. Last week, Herbie was in Lincoln for the Ohio State-Nebraska game.

Also cracking Herbstreit’s top four was Alabama, Clemson and LSU. Both Alabama and Clemson had off weeks and LSU posted a convincing 42-6 win over Utah State.

On the outside looking in, Herbstreit has Georgia at No. 5 and Oklahoma at No. 6. The Bulldogs defeated Tennessee and the Sooners took down Kansas.

Many have dubbed Ohio State the best team in college football since last week’s drubbing of Nebraska, and the Buckeyes backed it up with their 34-10 win over Michigan State. The Buckeyes piled up 323 rushing yards on a defense that was allowing a meager 55 yards per game on the ground.

Aside from one, long MSU scoring drive, the defense kept the Spartans in check offensively, as well.

Ohio State now gets a break before returning to the field on Oct. 18 against Northwestern.
