Kirk Herbstreit is putting all his chips in the B1G right now.
After a Saturday filled with top 10 upsets, the ESPN college football analyst updated his top four rankings, suggesting who he believes would be in the College Football Playoff if the season ended after last week.
Though Herbstreit has two SEC teams in the picture and only one B1G team (Penn State) in the top four, it’s still apparent that he really likes what he’s seeing out of the conference.

Just like the Coaches Poll and the Associated Press Poll, Herbstreit has three B1G teams in the top six. Penn State owns the No. 2 spot while Wisconsin and Ohio State sit on the outside looking in.
The B1G hasn’t had quite the depth this season, but the powers at the top are proving to be really strong and everyone is taking notice.
It will be interesting to see how things change in the B1G as all these top-ranked teams start to play one another in the second half of the season.
