Lane Kiffin is watching his Ole Miss team from afar in the season opener, but the head coach still found time to call out the B1G officiating crew working the game.

On Monday night, Louisville and Ole Miss are squaring off in a Labor Day season opener with the Rebels dominating the scoreboard, 26-0, at halftime. Kiffin is not on hand with the team after testing positive for COVID last week.

Unfortunately, a high volume of targeting calls has been the story of the first half. In total, 4 targeting calls have been reviewed and enforced. That has led to 4 ejections through the first 30 minutes of action in the game.

At halftime, Kiffin addressed his defense which has played well. But in the interview with ESPN’s Molly McGrath, Kiffin took a shot at the B1G officials:

“We just need this B1G officiating crew to teach us how to tackle, because obviously, we don’t know,” said Kiffin.

Ouch. Admittedly, some of the calls were a bit questionable, but a few appeared to be obvious targeting calls.
