Louisville announces suspension of men's basketball coach Chris Mack without pay
Louisville has handed down a suspension after previously firing one of its assistant men’s basketball coaches.
On Friday, the school announced that head basketball coach Chris Mack is being suspended for 6 games without pay during the 2021-22 season. That suspension will cover non-conference games and includes two games during Lousiville’s trip to the Bahamas.
The school concluded Mack had been a victim of an extortion attempt by Dino Gaudio, a former assistant. However, the university also determined that Mack failed to follow university guidelines, policies, and procedures.
According to AD Vince Tyra, Louisville maintains high expectations for its staff and holds people accountable for their actions.
Mack will forfeit more than $200,000 worth of compensation during the suspension:

Michigan State is expected to face the Cardinals on Dec. 1 as a part of the B1G/ACC Challenge.
