Luke Fickell takes home national honor after leading Cincinnati to College Football Playoff
Luke Fickell has coached the Cincinnati Bearcats to an undefeated season and has made them the first Group of 5 team to ever make the CFP.
Because of that, he will not only take home the American Athletic Conference Championship trophy, but will also be bringing home the Home Depot Coach of the Year Award according to Brett McMurphy of The Action Network on Tuesday morning.

The Home Depot Coach of the Year Award has been given out to the best coach in college football since 1994. Brian Kelly is only coach who has been given the award multiple times. Kelly first won it with Cincinnati in 2009, then in 2012 and 2018 with Notre Dame.
Last year’s winner was Coastal Carolina’s Jamey Chadwell after leading the Chanticleers to their first ever bowl game since moving to Division I after an 11-1 season.
What a year for the Bearcats
