Multiple Kent State basketball players will be serving a suspension for their role in a vulgar social media video that went viral.

The MAC released a statement on Saturday afternoon stating that DJ Johnson, Malique Jacobs, Cli’Ron Hornebeak and Julius Rollins will serve some level of suspension after posting the video to social media. Johnson has been suspended indefinitely while Jacobs, Hornebeak and Rollins will be out for the first half.

Kent State will play Akron for the MAC title and the conference’s automatic bid to March Madness. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

“I’m disappointed this occurred,” MAC commissioner Dr. Jon Steinbrecher said. “This does not represent the values of Kent State or the Mid-American Conference. However, I commend the leadership of Kent State for being proactive in addressing this matter and collaborating with my office to bring this situation to resolution.”

The video — posted below — showcased the four Kent State players mentioned making vulgar remarks about Akron (warning: NSFW):

Both Kent State and Akron will enter the championship game with 23-9 records. The two teams played twice during the regular season, with Kent State winning both.

The Golden Flashes defeated the Zips 67-55 in January and won the second game 66-64.
