Michigan entered the 2019 season as the favorite to win the B1G and was an early favorite in every single game on the schedule, including the season finale against Ohio State. My how quickly things can change.

After a sluggish start for the Wolverines and an outstanding five-week stretch from the Buckeyes, the lines in Vegas are now in favor of Ohio State, in a big way.

Per Brian Edwards of Major Wager, Michigan entered the season as a 3.5-point favorite over Ohio State. Now, the Buckeyes are currently a 13.5-point favorite against their rivals. That’s a spread that has shifted 17 points.

“The Buckeyes have beaten arch-rival Michigan 14 times in the last 15 seasons. Nevertheless, the Wolverines were 3.5-point home favorites vs. Ohio State when the Westgate opened its Games of the Year spreads,” Edwards writes. “That number has now shifted 17 points, with the Buckeyes favored by 13.5 for their trip to Ann Arbor.”

Michigan currently sits at 3-1 on the year with a game against 4-0 Iowa on the horizon. Ohio State hosts Michigan State (4-1) in a B1G East showdown.

It’ll be interesting to see how much the spread continues to change over coming weeks. The two teams square off in Ann Arbor on Nov. 30.
