Manti Te’o put together a memorable career at Notre Dame. That included a dramatic 2012 season for the Irish with Te’o finishing 2nd in Heisman Trophy voting that year.

Te’o’s story was also an especially emotional one during the 2012 season with the star linebacker playing in memory of his grandmother and girlfriend who had both passed away. The only problem? Te’o’s girlfriend didn’t exist.

That story will now be featured in an upcoming documentary on Netflix in the “Untold” series. A trailer for the feature was released on Tuesday.
Here is the description of the documentary from the trailer’s YouTube page:

“Born into a Hawaiian paradise, All-American football standout Manti Te’o leads a simple life summed up in just three words: faith, family, football. College football’s golden boy could do no wrong, but when tragedy strikes, the increased scrutiny of his online relationship causes a media maelstrom that threatens his future and legacy. Featuring in-depth interviews with Manti Te’o and the person behind the online identity, Ronaiah ‘Naya’ Tuiasosopo.”
