Former college football coach and broadcaster Mark Richt tweeted that he is “doing fine” since suffering a heart attack Monday morning. He also added he plans “to be at work this week.”
I am assuming word travels fast. So I wanted to be able to inform everyone that I did have a heart attack this morning. I am doing fine. As I went through the experience I had peace knowing I was going to heaven but I was going to miss my wife. I plan to be at work this week.

Richt, who is 59 years old, was born in Omaha, NE and played quarterback at Miami. He began his coaching career at Florida State in 1985 and became head coach at Georgia in 2001.
Richt led the Bulldogs to a 145-51 record in 15 seasons. He finished his coaching career with his alma mater, coaching the Hurricanes from 2016-18. Miami started the 2017 season 10-0 but a little more than a year later, Richt retired after a disappointing 7-6 season.
This season, he has become an analyst at ACC Network.
