Fields has been outstanding so far, accounting for 23 touchdowns without throwing a single interception. Taylor has rushed for over 100 yards in each of Wisconsin’s first four games and has added pass-catching to his skill set. Both have looked phenomenal early in the season.

  1. Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma
  2. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
  3. Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
  4. Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
  5. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin

After a rocky start, Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence has fallen completely out of the race for Leinart, at least so far. But with two months still left in the season, there’s plenty of time to crawl back into the conversation.

Fields will have his toughest test of the season this week as Ohio State hosts Michigan State. Wisconsin closes out non-conference play against Kent State on Saturday.
