Mel Kiper Jr. reveals Top 5 prospects for 2021 NFL Draft
With the 2020 NFL Draft now over, ESPN expert Mel Kiper Jr. is starting to prepare for the 2021 version of the draft. That means making some early projections about top prospects for next year.
In the days after the NFL Draft was completed, Kiper revealed which five players he believes are the best prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft. Two of the five names on his board came out of the B1G.
Like most, Kiper has Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence as the top player in next year’s draft. Right behind the rising junior is Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, who is at No. 2. Also making the cut from the B1G was Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons, who was listed at No. 5.
Here’s Kiper’s complete top five:
- Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
- Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
- Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon
- Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU
- Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
Kiper’s list doesn’t necessarily reflect where he believes players will be drafted, as the 2021 draft order won’t be set until the end of the 2020 season. Instead, the ESPN NFL Draft expert is naming the five players he thinks are the best heading into this college football season.
