Michigan opens as nearly 3-TD favorite for road game vs. Minnesota
Michigan vs. Minnesota is a long-running series in the B1G, though the two sides have not squared off as often in recent years. In fact, Jim Harbaugh and PJ Fleck have just two head-to-head matchups at their respective programs.
The two head coaches faced off in 2017 and 2020 with Harbaugh’s program winning a pair of blowout victories against the Gophers. The most recent game came in 2020, a 49-24 win for Michigan in Minneapolis.
This time around, the two sides will once again face off in Minneapolis, and the Wolverines are still massive favorites. Circa Sports released the opening lines for Week 6 Sunday afternoon, and Michigan starts the week as -18. While Minnesota has the pieces and the defense to potentially keep things close, it’s not hard to see why the Wolverines open with such a big line. Michigan most recently steamrolled Nebraska in Lincoln and is 5-0 on the season. The Gophers have also struggled at times this season, including against Louisiana in Week 5.
Saturday’s game will get the primetime treatment with a 7:30 pm ET kickoff set for NBC.
