Minnesota-Penn State was the highlight of the weekend for many. Yes, LSU-Alabama was great. We won’t deny that.
But in particular for the noon-window of games, Minnesota-Penn State crushed it. Just look at the amount of viewers and television ratings.

On Tuesday, ESPN PR announced on Twitter that the game was the most-watched noon telecast on ABC in nearly three seasons:

ESPN/ABC and FOX have been battling more for the noon time slot than ever before it seems like. We’ve seen a number of marquee matchups take place at noon this season — more than usual, right?
Putting Penn State-Minnesota on at noon for ABC seemed to do wonders. We’re likely to see more of these “bigger” games on at noon due to the success they’ve had.
