Once again, Texas is in trouble.
The ninth-ranked Longhorns find themselves in a battle with in-state and Big 12 rival TCU on Saturday from Darrel K. Royal Stadium. The Horned Frogs own a 20-14 advantage heading into the half.
Last weekend, Texas had to overcome a 15-point deficit against Texas Tech to remain perfect on the season. The Longhorns overcame the two-touchdown deficit within the final 5 minutes of last week’s game and defeated the Red Raiders 63-56 in overtime.
The Big 12 has already endured some tough losses this season. No. 23 Iowa State was defeated by Louisiana in the first game of the season and Kansas State upset No. 3 Oklahoma last Saturday. If Texas loses this weekend, the only undefeated teams left in the league would be Oklahoma State (2-0) and Baylor (1-0).
TCU is 0-1 this season following a 37-34 loss to Iowa State last weekend.
If Texas falls this weekend, it would be a huge blow to the Big 12’s College Football Playoff chances.
