Ohio State announced Thursday that Buckeyes players and coaches will not be speaking to the media for the time being. It appears Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany has voluntarily added himself to the list of people who won’t be publicly commenting on Urban Meyer.

The news comes from ESPN reporter Michele Steele. She shared on her Twitter feed late Thursday that Jim Delany cancelled his plans to appear at a panel she is hosting Friday at the American Bar Association in Chicago. In her tweet, she notes that the event had been “scheduled for months.”

While last-minute cancellations happen in life for legitimate reasons all the time, Steele interpreted it as Delany not wanting to talk about Meyer, who is currently on administrative leave at OSU. Steele shared the news by quoting the news of OSU cancelling media opportunities and ended her own tweet with the hashtag #UrbanMeyerEffect.
