An intense basketball rivalry game turned ugly on Tuesday night, with a brawl erupting in the closing moments of the Kansas-Kansas State game.
Kansas defeated Kansas State 81-60 at Allen Fieldhouse on Tuesday night, but the final score wasn’t the biggest story from Kansas. In the closing seconds of the contest, Kansas State’s DaJuan Gordon got a steal and raced to the other end of the floor for a layup, but the shot was blocked by Silvio De Sousa.
Following the block, De Sousa appeared to stand over Gordon, who was lying on the ground. After that moment, words, shoves and punches were exchanged and benches on both sides cleared, resulting in an ugly scene. Below are some of the videos from the melee.

There were likely be some swift ramifications and repercussions on both sides from the NCAA, and potentially both schools, as well. It may take some time, however, as several players were involved in the fight. There were also some individuals playing the role of peace-maker during the event, too.
It was a black eye for both programs.
